*The top three boats in the I Eights and the Fours and the top two boats in the II Eights are seeded and placed in separate heats. The remaining seeds will be randomly drawn.

CHAMPIONSHIP STRUCTURE:

The team championship is comprised of eight teams, and each team is required to field two boats of eight rowers each and one boat of four rowers. In addition, eight eight-women boats and eight four-women boats from institutions not represented in the team competition are selected. A minimum of 38 (two eights and four fours) of the 296 berths are allocated to participants from Divisions II and III.

SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection of teams and individual boats is based on eligibility and availability of student-athletes; results from declared competing line-ups; head-to-head competition; late-season performance; regional rankings; results against teams/boats already selected; results against regionally ranked teams/boats, and results from major regattas. One team from each region is selected and the remaining four teams are selected at large.

The Division I Championships/Competition Cabinet has approved a maximum field size of 296 participants for this championship.
